Weekly Meal Plan – January Week 4

One of my favorite weekend rituals is waking up early to plan our meals for the week ahead. I know a lot of families struggle with eating healthful meals or find themselves at the end of a long day with nothing planned to feed the tired and hungry mouths looking at them in anticipation. While there are a lot of aspects of motherhood I can decidedly confirm are difficult for me, planning and executing weekly meal plans isn’t one of them. My hope is that sharing my meal plans (and recipe links, where appropriate) will inspire you to browse through Pinterest or your cookbook collection to find something to nourish your family…

    Knitting NOT Pregnant!

A late join to Nicole over @ Frontier Dreams, but wanting to check in nonetheless. The girls were born about three weeks ago (more about their  beautiful souls soon!) and life is slowly finding a new pace and a new normalcy. In the meantime, I’ve been managing to find some free knitting time while waiting in the daily pickup line for my oldest’s school. It’s the Baby Verterbrae pattern and one I had fully intended on having finished by the time I held either of our girls. We ended up being induced early (for a few reasons and I hate to admit it, but I was really ready to not spend…

    Weekly House Cleaning Schedule

I am so excited to finally put this together! It’s a weekly house cleaning schedule that I’m hoping gives us some routines that we can stick to so that house work doesn’t pile up or feel overwhelming at any point during the week. I’ve been searching for one for weeks now but everything I found wasn’t pretty or exactly what I wanted – so I created my own!   Do you have a routine or rhythm for your housework? I’d love to hear what other families do! (Also – if you’d like a copy of this, let me know and I’ll see about making it available for download.)

    Wednesday – What I Ate

I always find it interesting to see what other people eat in the course of any given day. Being pregnant this go-round, my appetite is certainly a lot different than it normally is though I’m not sure the things I like eating while pregnant have changed too much from when I was pregnant with either of the boys. I prefer uncooked foods (sandwiches, for example) and I find myself eating a ton of fresh fruit nearly constantly. (In fact, the latter fact has made it very difficult to keep fruit in the house because we all snack on it throughout the day. For breakfast alone, we can go through 4-6 pieces of…

    Knitting While Pregnant: Pumpkin Hats

Joining Nicole over @ Frontier Dreams for her weekly KCCO: Some exciting news – Multnomah is finished! Unblocked, but finished and I just love how it turned out. Such a simple and easy pattern with beautiful results, it’s been the perfect knitting to distract me from reading too many political posts over social media and all over the news. (Is anyone else fed up with the state of politics right now?) And then, just as I finished, my boys started inquiring about whether or not I could make them pumpkin hats. We’re still adjusting to our central-Texas fall and finding that we’re missing the gentle signs of autumn outside. Luckily,…

    Knitting While Pregnant: Multnomah Continues!

Joining Nicole over @ Frontier Dreams for her weekly KCCO: I’ve had a bit of time this week to continue working on the Multnomah shawl I shared last week. It’s coming along pretty quickly, to the point where I think it may even be finished by this time next week. We’ll just have to see! Once this is finished, I’m not really sure what I’ll be casting on next. Earlier in the summer, I knitted a pilot cap and two pairs of baby legs for the twins so I may cast on the second pilot cap before it gets too late. What are your must-knits for the babies in your…
